Unless a passenger has a service animal, it's up to the driver whether to allow the passenger's pet in the vehicle. All pet owners using Lyft should call their drivers right after their requests are accepted to confirm that their pet will be permitted in the vehicle.

Drivers are expected to comply with all state, federal and local laws regarding the transportation of riders with disabilities and the use of service animals. If your pet is not a service animal, a non-service animal, it's up to the discretion of the driver to allow the pet or animal in the vehicle. Pet owners using Uber should contact their driver after their request is accepted to inform the driver that they are traveling with a pet.

For the health and comfort of subsequent renters of the vehicle who may be allergic to animal dander, the vehicle must be returned in its original condition with no animal hair or feathers anywhere in or on the vehicle. Renters whose vehicles require a detailed cleaning to remove animal hair or address sanitary issues will be assessed a $75 fee.
