The regulations for the import of pet birds are greatly affected by Avian Influenza outbreaks. These regulations change often, and owners of pet birds should confirm with the government agency responsible for infectious diseases as to the standing of the origination country with regard to Avian Influenza. Currently, pet birds may only be imported to EU Member States from other EU Member States or these countries:
