• Traveling to the EU with a pet - some countries easier than others?

A good many people travel to Europe with a pet. Aside from the rabies free countries (UK and Sweden), if you are traveling from the US (or another country with a low incidence of rabies), it is relatively easy to travel to Europe with your pet. Many folks spend a good portion of the summer there, and will not leave their pet behind. We find Italy is very easy to enter with a pet. Tourism is important to their economy, and they try hard to accommodate pet travelers. Have you found that to be true? Are there other countries in Europe that you enjoy visiting with your pet?

I love the EU because everywhere has the same rules (except the UK and Sweden as you mentioned). We flew from NYC to Madrid direct and that worked well. We have large dogs so they fly in cargo and Iberia Airlines was the best deal for overall price. Once you're in the EU though, it's easy to move around... so no need to limit to just one country.

If the airline you are flying will allow the cat in the cabin that would be the first choice. If not the airlines seem to take very good care of their furry friends traveling as checked baggage. If you need the complete instructions and forms for Italy go to www.pettravelstore.com and then click on Pet Passports - Immigrationn Info and scroll down to the country.

I agree with you. Perth is good one those who travel with their pet. Sunset is a stunning a chance to go to the seaside and a primo picture chance. But I think when is excellent along the expand of seaside from Swanbourne to Leighton really, the sea is different every day.

In my opinion the most dog friendly country in EU is Italy. www.travel-doggy.com
