David - you may want to contact United for flight out of MEL connecting with Lufthansa at LAX (Lufthansa owns the route but United Operates the initial leg.). Then Lufthansa to CDG through FRA. United also flies a route from SYD through IAH and IAD. Any flight out of Australia has a long first leg and likely no airline will allow a pet in the carrier for 14-15 hours. We have no info on sea vessels that will accept pets. Sorry.
