1.

In-Cabin Pet Policy

If your dog or cat meets the requirements listed in Asiana Airlines pet policy to travel in-cabin, you will need an approved airline pet carrier. The carrier must have a waterproof bottom, have room for your pet to stand up and turn around, must fasten securly and have adequate ventilation.

Pets Allowed:

Small dogs, cats and household birds. Pets must be clean and well behaved. One pet is permitted per passenger in the cabin subject to aircraft restrictions. Total weight of your pet including its carrier must not exceed 15.4 pounds (7kg).

Age Requirements:

Pets must be at least 8 weeks old and fully weaned to travel in the cabin.

Restrictions

Pets are not permitted to fly in the cabin when restricted by the relevant laws and regulations of the destination city or country such as the United Kingdom.

Carrier Requirements

The total measurement of three sides of the pet carrier must be 45 inches (115 cm) or less. The maximum height of the carrier must be 8 inches (21 cm) or less for hard-sidedcarriers and a maximum of 10 inches (26 cm) for soft carriers.

Each passenger may bring 1 pet in a carrier unless they are 2 puppies or 2 kittens under the age of 6 months. A mother bird and her baby may also fly in one carrier.

Carriers can be made of leather or fabric; however, it should have a supporting framework so it does not collapse when it is free-standing.

Reservations

You must contact Asiana Airlines at least 24 hours in advance of travel and make a reservation for your pet.

Check-In

You will check in at the passenger counter and pay for your pet's carriage. Your pet airline carrier will count as a piece of carry-on luggage.

Forms Required

Asiana Airlines will need to see all documentation required for your destination country as well as export permits and quarantine certificates, if required.

Service and Emotional Support Animals

Asiana Airlines will accept service dogs for visually or hearing-impaired passengers on their flights free of charge according to their regulations. Dogs must have an identification tag from a nationally-recognized training institution. Food must be provided by the owner during layovers on long flights. The service animal must fly at the passenger's feet.

If you are flying with an emotional support animal on Asiana Airlines on a flight directly to or from the United States, you should contact customer service to see if your ESA is approved to fly in the cabin with you under Airline Carrier Access Act regulations.

Checked Baggage Pet Policy

If your pet is too large to fit under the seat, Asiana Airlines may transport your pet in the cargo section of the aircraft according to its regulations. This section of the cargo department has the same temperature and pressure as the passenger cabin. The number of pets permitted to fly as checked baggage will depend on the type of aircraft and route.

TIP: Be sure to tell the Captain of the aircraft that your pet is flying in the cargo hold so that they can be sure to keep the temperature at the proper level. Find more tips on airline pet travel in cargo.

Pets Allowed:

Dogs, cats and birds. Dogs and cats must be at least 8 weeks of age and weaned. Pets flying to or from North America must be a minimum of 90 days of age. Pregnant pets, foul smelling pets, ferocious dogs (attack dogs and other fierce animals) will be refused.

Reservations

You must contact Asiana Airlines at least 24 hours in advance of travel and make a reservation for your pet. Availability will depend on aircraft type and route.

Check-In

When flying as checked baggage, you will check in your dog, cat or bird at least 2 hours ahead of flight time at the passenger ticket counter at which time you will pay the fee for transport. Pet owners are encouraged to contact Asiana Airlines and make a reservation for their pet well ahead of travel.

Pets should be watered and fed no sooner than 4 hours of check-in. Adequate food and water for the duration of the flight should be provided.

Temperature Restrictions:

For your pet's safety, if, at any point, (origination/transit/destination) during your pet's transport, the temperature for the day is forecast to be less than 10 degrees F (-12°C) or greater than 85°F (29°C), your pet will be refused transport as checked baggage or air cargo.

Temperature Restrictions

Pets will not be accepted in the cargo hold as checked baggage or air cargo when actual or forecasted temperatures are above 85°F (29.4°C) or below 45°F (7.2°C) at any city on the itinerary. July to September and December to February

Route Restrictions

Dogs, cats and birds cannot be transported as checked baggage to countries that require that pets enter as air cargo, such as the United Kingdom.

Forms Required

Health Certificate issued by a licensed veterinarian within 10 days of travel. Quarantine certificate should be provided when required. All documentation required for your pet's destination country must be provided.

Vaccinations required

Certificates for all vaccinations required to exit the origination country and enter the destination country must be provided.

Crate Requirements

Only 1 dog or cat over the age of 6 months is permitted to fly in each crate. 2 puppies or 2 kittens under the age of 6 months, or a pair of birds are exempt. No more than 2 puppies or kittens, aged no more than 6 months or a pair of birds may be transported in the same crate. Animals must be of the same sex and known to eachother and the crate must be large enough to accommodate both of them.

The combined weight of pet and crate cannot exceed 99 pounds (45 kg) to fly as checked baggage. The sum of 3 sides of the crate must be a maximum of 112 inches. The height of the crate cannot exceed 33 inches (84 cm).

Crates must be made of sturdy wood, plastic or metal and have a solid bottom. All crate doors must have a spring lock so your pet is unable to open it. Crates with birds must have a loosely woven protective covering like cheesecloth over ventilation holes and door that will provide privacy.

Manifest (Air) Cargo Pet Policies

Dogs and cats. No pregnant pets or nursing mothers with litters will be accepted.

Age

The minimum age to transport is 90 days of age except for flights to or from North America where the age minimum is 8 weeks of age. If your dog or cat is between 8 and 16 weeks of age, food and water must be provided and notice must be posted on the crate to feed and water within 12 hours.

Reservations

Reservations must be made through an agent authorized to book travel on Asiana Airlines between 10 and 14 days in advance of departure.

Forms Required

A quarantine certificate is required indicating a microchip number and rabies titer test results. Rabies vaccination must have been administered approximately 30 days before the day of transport and a rabies certiicate should accompany your pet. hipper's Certificate (airway bill) is also required.

The customer or an agent must acquire an import permit from the appropriate agency of the destination in advance, if required.

Check-In

You will check your pet in at Asiana Airlines cargo facility in your airport no more than 4 hours prior to departure. You will pay for pet's transport when your pet is checked in.

Crate Requirements

If the weight of your dog, not including the crate is more than 30kg, it must be approved with Asiana Cargo before departure of the aircraft. One dog or cat is permitted per crate. Two adult dogs each weighing less than 14 kg each that are known to eachother and are of a similar size can be transported in a single crate. Up to three dogs born from the same litter and under 6 months old can be transported in one crate.

Large or aggressive dogs weighing more than 30 kg (not including the crate) will only be accepted in a crate made of sturdy wood or metal. All dog crates must be cross-banded with ropes or straps. Crates must be marked with live animal stickers.

The following breeds are only transported domestically and will not be transported between July 1 and September 30 as checked baggage on any flights: Affenpinscher, Dogo Argentino, Mastiff, Boston Terrier, Boxer, Bulldog, Brussels Griffon, Shih Tzu, Spaniel (English Toy, Cavalier King Charles, Tibetan etc), Chihuahua, Japanese Chin, Lhasa Apso, Presa Canario, Chow Chow, Pug, Pekingese, Shar pei, Pit Bull, Cane Corso, Dogue de Bordeaux, or any dog with a short snout.

Cats : Burmese, Exotic, Himalayan, Persian

The following dangerous dog breeds or their crosses will not be permitted as checked baggage or air cargo: Tosa dogs, American Pitbull Terriers, American Staffordshire Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Dogo Argentino, Mastiffs, Laika, Ovtcharka, Kangal, Wolfdog, American Bully and Rottweilers.

Asiana Airlines does not permit the transport of primates, pigs, snakes or rodents (ex: rats, hamsters, guinea pigs, squirrels, chinchillas, moles, rabbits, beavers).
