In-Cabin Pet Policy

If your dog, cat, bird (except birds of prey), fish, aquarium turtle, hamsters, guinea pigs or small rabbit meet the requirements listed in Air Europa pet policy to travel in-cabin, you will need an airline-compliant pet carrier. You must notify Air Europa that you are traveling with a pet. Reservations cannot be made online.

The combined weight of pets and their carriers must be less than 17 lbs (8kg), except for flights operated by ATR, where the weight cannot exceed 13 lbs (6kg). Maximum size carrier: 55L x 35W x25H cm (21.6"H x 13.8"W x 9.8"H)

Checked Baggage Pet Policy

If your pet is too large to fit under the seat, it is an animal other than a dog or cat, or if it is a very long flight, Air Euruopa may transport your pet in the cargo section of their aircraft according to its regulations. This section of the cargo department has the same temperature and pressure as the passenger cabin. TIP: Be sure to tell the Captain of the aircraft that your pet is flying in the cargo hold so that they can be sure to keep the temperature at the proper level. Find more tips on airline pet travel in cargo.

Animals allowed: Amphibians, insects, crustaceans, reptiles (except aquarium turtles), rodents (other than hamsters, guinea pigs and small rabbits), ferrets and some breeds of dogs.

Cost

Your crate will count as excess baggage and will incur those rates according to the weight and size of your pet and its crate. All guide dogs flying with their disabled passengers will carried at no charge, however, advance reservations must be made with the airline.

Forms

All pets must be accompanied with proof of vaccinations, a health certificate issued 10 days or less prior to travel as well as all documentation required for their destination country.

Restrictions

Air Europa will not transport pets without their owners or a representative of the owner. Laboratory animals, unweaned animals or pregnant animals will not be permitted. Animals will not be transported in or out of the United Kingdom.

If your pet is traveling in the cargo section as checked baggage, it must be in a pet crate that is IATA compliant.

Learn more about IATA compliant pet crates. We also suggest that you consider crate hardware for your pet's crate as more airlines are requiring it. Once you receive your crate, you will need to acclimate your pet to it before traveling. Our guide for preparing your pet and its crate for travel is helpful, especially for first time pet travelers.
