Swiss International Air Lines Pet Policy In-Cabin
If your dog or cat meets the requirements listed in Swiss Air
Lines pet policy
to travel in-cabin, you will need an
approved airline pet carrier. You must notify Swiss International Air
Lines that you are traveling with a pet. Reservations cannot be made online.
Animals Permitted In-Cabin: Small dogs and cats - weight of pet + carrier must not exceed 17.6 lbs. (8kg).Service animals traveling with disabled passengers are not restricted as far as size or weight. Your pet must be healthy, clean and must not smell. It must not be pregnant or dangerous.
Pet Carrier measurements: Length + width + height = maximum of 46" (118 cm) If the carrier does not fit under the seat in front of the passenger (e.g. in the First and Business Class sections of the Airbus 330/340) the pet will have to be stowed in the overhead compartment.
Age Restrictions: Swiss will restrict the age of pets carried in-cabin to conform to the destination country requirements. Puppies under the age of 3 months are not permitted
Restricted Routes: Pets cannot travel in-cabin or as checked baggage to Ireland, the UK, Kenya, South Africa, Hong Kong and the United Arab Emirates. Contact Swiss for pets traveling to India as import to that country has become restrictive.
Swiss International Air Lines Pet Policy Checked Baggage
Check-in: At least 1 hour prior to latest check-in time indicated on ticket.
Crate Requirements: Maximum size: 105 cm x 75 cm x 79 cm - Series 500 crates are the largest crates permitted as checked baggage. Larger sizes are accepted as manifest cargo. Crate must comply with international crate requirements. No wooden crates are accepted.

Breed Restrictions: Your pet must be healthy, clean and must not smell. It must not be pregnant or dangerous. As of January 1, 2019, Swiss Air will no longer transport snub-nosed breeds in the cargo hold.
Age Restrictions: Swiss will restrict the age of pets carried as checked baggage to conform to the destination country requirements, but in any case refuses acceptance of puppies below 3 months of age..

Swiss International Air Lines Pet Policy Manifest Cargo
If your pet is traveling without you or any designee, it will travel as manifest cargo under Swiss WorldCargo services. Also, if it is traveling to Ireland, the UK, India,. Kenya, South Africa, Hong Kong and the United Arab Emirates, it will also need to travel as manifest cargo.
Forms Required: All forms and permits required depend on your origin, destination and transit countries. Check at your local Swiss WorldCargo office.
Crate Requirements: Size limited by aircraft cargo hold dimensions only. Crate must comply with international crate requirements.
