When the scan is performed, both the type (FDX-A or FDX-B) and the microchip number will be displayed on the screen. This scanner is easily programmable for English, French, Spanish, Italian, German, and Portuguese. It is very easy to use. Pet Travel Store rents the T4A Microchip Scanner that can detect microchips (transponders) using either 125, and 134.2 kHz. This is the full range of unencrypted microchips currently in use. It will NOT read the 128 kHz 9 digit Avid encrypted microchip.

The procedure is as follows:

The cost of renting the scanner is $61.00 which will cover the first two weeks starting the day we ship you the scanner and ending the day we receive the scanner back. Each additional week or part thereof that you keep the scanner will be $15.75. Your rental period begins on the day the scanner is shipped to you. You may either keep the scanner for the deposit cost of $279.95 or return it at any time at your cost.

Once the scanner has been received by Pet Travel Store, the rental period ends. We will immediately issue a credit of $279.95 less the minimum rental charge of $61.00 plus $15.75 per week for any additional weeks or parts thereof over the initial 14 day period. If the unit is not in working order when returned, we will deduct for cleaning or repairs we have to make to the unit.

(Crystal Microchips) It DOES NOT read the 9 and 10 digit chips made by Avid, Home Again, and other manufacturers that operate at 125 and 128 kHz.
