Pet Friendly Hotels Minnesota:
The State of Minnesota is divided into five regions to make selecting your vacation destination easier. The Northwest area is where the prairie meets the great north woods and is the area with the largest lakes with all of the activities and attractions that they make available. This area is the headwater for the Mississippi river where it starts it’s long trip to the Gulf of Mexico.

The Northeast section is the land of the outdoorsman. You and your pet can “rough it in a campground along the shores of Lake Superior or live in sheer comfort at one of the lakeside lodges and hotels. The wild north woods offer biking, hiking, canoeing, fishing and boating.

Just to the Northwest of Minneapolis is the Central region with over 300 golf courses. During the winter months you might try your hand at ice fishing. The twin cities of St. Paul and Minneapolis offer everything you might want in a metropolitan city. Theatre, museums, fine dining and of course shopping.

The Southern part of the state is more rural. The Mississippi river and many smaller rivers wind their way through scenic valleys nestled amount tall heavily wooded bluffs. As you drive through the area you will find ample evidence of the Dakota Indians who lived in the area many years ago.

Cities with Off-Leash Dog Parks in Minnesota include Benson, Coon Rapids, Duluth, Faribault, Mankato and Minneapolis-St Paul.
Grand Portage National Monument allows dogs on the footpath. While the Mississippi National River Recreation Area allows dogs on most of the trails along this 40+ miles of river shore, including off-leash areas at Minnehaha Park and Riverside.
Dogs are welcome in Minnesota state parks but must be kept on a leash of not more than six feet and must be personally attended at all times. No dogs are allowed in state park buildings, lodging, cabins, camper cabins, on tours or in beach areas.
