Hi, I want to bring my cat across from Stansted to Derry. It's a large male Syberian Tiger. He's 285kg and nearly 6 foot long. Don't worry about that, Tigger will be heavily sedated for the journey. If there are no delays, we won't have any problems. For safety reasons I will be traveling on an earlier flight, but hope to meet him in the arrivals lounge. If I don't have to pay by the kilo, we can make this happen. Thanks for your help.

RyanAir does not transport live animals of any sort. However, many other airlines do.
Posted on 2014-01-02 04:10:26.0
We are not RyanAir, however, they do not transport animals of any type.

How much does it cost for a guinea pig?
Posted on 2014-01-03 00:57:54.0
Posted on 2014-01-03 06:38:57.0
RyanAir does not transport pets of any kind, but most airlines will transport them as checked baggage in the cargo hold. Find another airline that serves your route (do not change airlines - airplanes, OK - airlines NO) If you are traveling with your guinea pig, then contact their reservations for the cost.
Posted on 2014-01-03 14:34:42.0
We are not an airline; we assist people flying with pets. You may consider hiring an agent for this transport. (the airline may require it anyway). You can find one at

I have a kitten. Four weeks old without a mother. How long until she would be able to fly? The flight will be four hours to Tenerife.
Posted on 2014-06-05 10:27:49.0
Hi Shannen - You don't mention what country you are entering Terife from. As Tenerife is a island of Spain, your kitten will not be able to enter until it is microchipped, then vaccinated for rabies (3 months) then a 21 day wait if you are entering from another EU country or a rabies controlled country. If you are entering from a high-rabies country, then a 30 day wait after the vaccination then a Blood Titer test. Assuming acceptable results, your kitten can enter Tenerife 90 days after the date the blood was drawn. You will also need an Annex II form for Spain issued 10 days prior to entry by your vet or an EU pet passport.

Agree with you. Ryan Air has great routes, too. Not too many airlines do not carry pets and it certainly would make good addition to the bottom line.

How much is it to transport a small dog Raynair to 6 kg , and how must be the size of the crate so that it can be carried on board ? Anyone Know ?
Posted on 2014-06-24 01:38:31.0
Can you advise on best way to bring a 4kg cat from Romania to Northern Ireland or Ireland (from there i can take it by car or bus)? I see neither British Airways nor Ryanair won't accept small pets as cabin baggage... Thank you.
Posted on 2014-06-25 09:22:58.0
Stefan - there is no commercial airline that will transport a pet into the UK in the cabin. You can investigate a pet friendly ferry as an alternative.
Posted on 2014-06-30 23:53:44.0
Veronika - Ryan Air will not transport pets at all. What cities are you traveling from and to?
Posted on 2014-06-30 23:55:49.0

Daoine - try contacting Aer Lingus or British Airways for the cost information as the cost will vary according to size. They also may require an agent to book.

im on holiday and fell in love with a puppy and purchased her. im meant to fly with ryanair next week monday to the uk. but just found out that they supposedly dont allow pets on their flights. what should i do?
Posted on 2014-08-19 20:27:08.0
Janney - you will not be able to bring an puppy into the UK without a microchip and rabies vaccination and a titer test (depending on what country you are entering the UK from). If you are entering from the US or Canada, it will take 21 days after the microchip is implanted and the vaccination is given to enter the UK. Your pet must be 3 months old before the vaccination is given. You will also need an Annex II form for the UK. You can find the details here:

Hi, Could you please clarify if we can travel with a small dog from London UK to Poland, Gdansk by Ryan Air? Thank you.
Posted on 2014-09-10 21:44:33.0
Hello Lesya - Ryan Air does not accept pets either in the cabin or as cargo. You can try LOT, SAS or Lufthansa. They fly the route with only one stop.
Posted on 2014-09-13 15:43:53.0
Malgorzata - most likely the dog was traveling as a service or comfort animal.

How can I bring my dog from Majorca to Northern Ireland please?
Posted on 2014-11-10 21:02:17.0
Linda - Aer Lingus and Thomas Cook offer a seasonal flight to Belfast; not sure if they are still in operation. This airlines will require that an agent do the booking. You can try Air Europa, Air Berlin or Iberia but the second leg is handled by British Airways through London and the routes require long layovers in Madrid. BA will also require an agent. Lufthansa may also be an option, but it will transit through Frankfurt to another airline. If you are not traveling with your pet, an agent will be required to transfer your pet from one airline to another.

Are you able to fly birds from Portugal to ireland?
Posted on 2014-11-23 20:44:13.0
You pet cannot fly on Ryan Air as it does not carry pets. It depends on where you are located in the UK. It would be easier if you could travel with your puppy. If you do not, then it will be considered a commercial move. (a bit more complicated)
Posted on 2014-11-25 04:32:33.0
Ryan Air does not fly any animals. You will need to try another airline approved to fly directly into Dublin such as AerLingus, Emirates, Lufthansa or Turkish Airlines if they serve your route..
Posted on 2014-11-25 04:35:09.0
You can fly to Dublin and back non-stop using AerLingus. They will require that an agent book the flight, however.

Would they let to carry even in the cargo a mini Jack Russel which weighs 2 kg. From Dublin(Ireland) To Kaunas(Lithuania)
Posted on 2014-11-29 13:13:41.0
Paula - your pet will need to travel as manifest cargo on an approved airline into London. British Airways and Aer Lingus fly the route (they will require an agent). Try Swiss Cargo or KLM. Your pup will need a microchip, rabies vaccination and an EU pet passport 21 days before traveling.

We are going to Italy in January for 7 days. We would love to take our Bichon Frise with us... Is this possible? The tickets are already booked. What documentation do I need exactly, for the dog? All vaccines are up to date. Any dog crate is okay? Thanks!
Posted on 2014-12-03 19:40:14.0
Carmen - if you are flying on Ryan Air, your Bichon cannot travel with you as they don't transport pets other than service animals. It could travel as unaccompanied manifest cargo on another airline. Also, there may be additional requirements depending on what country you are traveling from.

I have a bird Im wishing to bring on cabin on a flight from Rome to England she's microchipped. what airline would you recommend?
Posted on 2015-01-18 15:08:16.0
Kaede - for non-stop service into Heathrow on an approved airline, you can look at British Airways or Japan Airlines. BA will require that you book through an agent. You can also contact Japan Airlines cargo department. KLM, Turkish Airlines and Air Malta also have one-stop routes into Heathrow.
Posted on 2015-01-19 21:46:10.0
Honey - you will need to contact the cargo department of an airline that flies the route. You will need to clear in London.
Posted on 2015-01-19 21:48:33.0
Honey - you can find an agent at You can search by country or airport.

Can I travel with a pet rat in the cabin?
Posted on 2015-01-22 08:13:08.0
No pets can travel on Ryan Air. Most all commercial airlines will not allow a pet rat in the cabin. You can fly on the same flight with it as accompanied checked baggage in the hold, but not on Ryan Air. They don't transport animals.

Posted on 2015-02-24 09:26:23.0
Guoda - Ryan Air does not permit the transport of any type of animal on board. We don't know of any commercial airline that will fly a turtle in the cabin. Sorry....
Posted on 2015-02-25 03:54:23.0
Donimyka - Ryan Air does not transport any type of animal.
Posted on 2015-02-25 03:54:46.0
Veronika - you cannot transport a pet rat from Prague to London on Ryan Air as they do not allow live animals of any type on their planes. You may want to try LOT Polish, Swiss, Lufthansa or KLM Cargo as they have the shortest routes into London.

Hi coud you tell me which airlines are transporting animals in the cabin (cat - 6kg) from Ireland to Czech republic? Thank you
Posted on 2015-02-27 10:18:18.0
Hi Zuzana - try Lufthansa or Swiss Air. KLM flies the route as well, but we understand they are requiring that agents book their EU flights. Hopefully SA or Lufthansa do not...
