In-Cabin Pet Policy

Oman Air does not permit live animals to fly in the cabin on any flights.

Checked Baggage/Cargo Pet Policy

Oman Air will transport your cat or dog as checked baggage or manifest (air) cargo in the cargo section of the aircraft according to its regulations and those of the destination country. This section of the cargo department has the same temperature and pressure as the passenger cabin. TIP: Be sure to tell the Captain of the aircraft that your pet is flying in the cargo hold so that they can be sure to keep the temperature at the proper level. Reservations

You will need to contact Oman Air at least than 48 hours ahead of departure and provide notification that you are traveling with a pet as checked baggage.

Forms Required

All pets must be accompanied with a health certificate issued 10 days or less prior to travel as well as all documentation required for their destination country.

Crate Requirements

If your pet is traveling in the cargo section as air cargo, it must be in a pet crate that is IATA compliant. To fly as checked baggage, the maximum weight of your pet and its carrier cannot exceed 75 kg (165 lbs) and the crate must not be larger than 292 cm/115 inches (l + w + h). If the weight or size exceeds these amounts, then your pet must fly as manifest (air) cargo.

Two adult animals of comparable size that are compatible, up to 14 kg (30 lbs) each may travel in the same crate. Three animals up to six months old from the same litter, up to 14 kg (30 lbs) each can travel in the same crate.

It is recommended that you check in at least 4 hours ahead of departure.
