Pet Travel - Want to take your family pet away with you? Britannia Airways are a market leader in flying Pets to and from the UK.
Britannia Cargo provides a fast and safe service to transport your pet to the airport near to your holiday home. Pets can be carried on most of Britannia's flights to Spain, Canary Islands, Portugal, Greece, Cyprus, Italy, Malta, Dominican Republic, Barbados and Orlando.
If you to make your own arrangements to fly your pet, have the correct travel container and a Pet Passport. They have a web based quote and booking facility – see the URL address at the bottom of this page. Follow the simple steps outline there to obtain a quotation and then pre-book your pet's flight.
You must download and read the Britannia Shippers Responsibilities document and the Conditions of Carriage and confirm acceptance of these before proceeding to book the Pet's travel.
Obtain a Pet Passport or health certificate and all relevant travel information from your Vet.
You should obtain a suitable container/kennel for transporting your Pet in and will need this before making your booking. Why not ask your Vet?
You must make an online booking and obtain confirmation of the time and date of the flight. The reservation will also give you a provisional quotation, based on the details you give, for the freight and charges (see the Online Booking button below).
Take the container, pet and HYPERLINK "http://www.ana-aviation.com/Pets/Shippers%20Certification.PDF" 'Shippers Declaration' to the cargo terminal at the departure airport at least 2 but no more than 4 hours before departure. An air waybill has to be made with the total weight and dimensions of the container with the animal inside. The final cost of shipment will then be calculated. If you intend to travel on the same flight you should get someone else to do this for you as you will also need to be checking in for the flight.
We will label the container with standard IATA Live Animal Labels and the This Way Up labels on at least 3 sides of the container.
You should fix a label clearly showing the name and address of the owner, a 24 hour contact phone number and the consignee's name and address to the top of the container.
A water bowl and dried food must be supplied and attached to the container in case there is a delay and instructions for feeding and watering must be given in writing and also fixed to the container. Any medication that has/is being given must also be recorded with the name of the drug and the time and route of administration. Tranquilisation is NOT recommended for air transport of animals.
Please advise the handling company if you are travelling on the same flight. Otherwise do not leave the airport until you know that the flight has been confirmed to leave. This helps everyone when there are unexpected problems and delays. Make sure that there in someone to meet the shipment at the cargo department at the airport of destination.
